Four buoys float on the surface of the sea under the shimmering afternoon sunlight

The images shown above represent the Glasgow International 2024 project that Wei Zhang is participating in, not the artist’s individual practice.

Wei Zhang is a Glasgow-based filmmaker, visual artist, and PhD researcher at Kingston School of Art. Their work explores non-verbal artists' moving images, queerness, and marginalised identity, challenging gender norms and patriarchy while promoting cultural unity. Proficient in artists' film and video, Zhang blends Chinese queer and neurodivergent experiences with themes of body horror.
