Maria Thereza Alves, a Brazilian artist living in Europe, researches social and cultural phenomena working particularly with situations which question social circumstances about what we think we know and who we think we are instead at where and how we actually are at this time.
Maria Thereza Alves has recently exhibited in the Lyon Biennale, Guangzhou Triennale, Manifesta in Trento, the Prague Biennale and the Berlin Film Festival.
Alves, Brazil, (1960) has a B.F.A. from the Cooper Union, School of Arts in New York. Alves is co-founder of the Partido Verde do Brasil (the Green Party).
