Curator talk by Katrina Brown, Director of The Common Guild and of Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art.

Katrina Brown (born Glasgow) is Director of The Common Guild, a new visual arts organisation based in Glasgow presenting an international programme of artists’ projects, events and exhibitions. Since 2008 The Common Guild has been working in partnership with Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art on the development of its international acquisitions as part of the Art Fund International scheme. From 1997 until early 2007, she was Curator and Deputy Director of Dundee Contemporary Arts, where she curated major solo projects with Scottish and international artists alike: Olafur Eliasson, Christine Borland, Roderick Buchanan, Ernesto Neto, Miroslaw Balka, Fiona Banner, Christopher Wool, Simon Starling, Thomas Demand, Claire Barclay, Richard Wright and Marine Hugonnier among others. She was also responsible for the major survey of Scottish art ‘Here + Now’ across five venues in Dundee and Aberdeen in 2001.
