As part of a developing education programme Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art is pleased to announce a series of three student tour days during the 2012 Festival. In partnership with the Glasgow School of Art we are offering peer led tours of key exhibitions along with a discussion forum and social event at the end of the day.
Tours will be led by students from GSA and are open to student groups from UK and international BA and MA arts courses - ideally in groups of around 15 students per institution.
There are limited places available so please register interest as soon as possible at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
During tour days students will investigate key institutions and informal support networks that make up Glasgow’s dynamic art scene, and which are celebrated through the GI Festival over 18 days every two years. With over 40 exhibition venues in the programme and a number of one-off events, performances, screenings, talks and workshops the Festival offers an invaluable way to understand the local arts scene and to see a wide range of internationally recognised work produced and presented especially for the Festival.
The Glasgow School of Art is one of Europe’s most successful higher education institutions for education and research in fine art, design and architecture: a small, specialist, practice based institution and home to the UK’s largest art and design research community.
